I still remember the day I heard the word “cancer.”
It felt like the ground disappeared beneath me. I was 38, a father of two, working a normal job, living a normal life — and suddenly, nothing was normal anymore.
I was diagnosed with Stage II colon cancer, and everything changed overnight. My first thoughts were of my children — would I get to see them grow up?
I had no idea where to turn. The treatments were expensive. The fear was overwhelming. My family and I were drowning — emotionally, financially, and mentally.
That’s when I found FIGHT AGAINST CANCER.
From the first phone call, they didn’t just treat me like a patient — they treated me like a person. They connected me to specialists, helped cover a portion of my treatment costs, and, most importantly, they gave me hope when I had none left.
Their team arranged non-invasive screenings, guided me through my options, and even provided mental health support when the stress became too much to bear. I wasn’t alone anymore.
Today, after months of treatment, fear, strength, and support, I’m in remission.
I walk my kids to school. I laugh again. I live again.
I don’t know where I would be without this organization — maybe still battling cancer, maybe buried under bills, maybe worse. But because of them, I have my life back.
To those reading this: if you’re going through it, please don’t give up. Help is out there. And to those who support this cause — you’re not just donating, you’re saving lives.
Thank you for giving me a second chance.
